IQN (NewsDesk): Quantum security company BTQ Technologies has announced a new partnership to protect digital wallets on LINE NEXT, a blockchain platform, from the emerging threat posed by quantum computers capable of breaking current cryptographic standards.
The collaboration addresses a growing concern across the cryptocurrency and digital asset industry, often referred to as the harvest now, decrypt later threat, in which encrypted data and transactions secured under today’s cryptographic standards could become vulnerable retroactively once sufficiently powerful quantum computers become available, even if such machines remain years away from practical deployment. Blockchain based digital wallets, which rely heavily on cryptographic signatures to secure ownership and authorize transactions, are considered particularly exposed to this long term risk given the immutable and permanent nature of blockchain ledgers.
By integrating BTQ’s quantum resistant security technology into LINE NEXT’s wallet infrastructure, the partnership aims to future proof user funds and transaction data against quantum enabled attacks well before such attacks become technically feasible. The move adds to a growing wave of similar quantum security partnerships emerging across the financial technology and blockchain sectors, as companies increasingly move to adopt post quantum cryptographic standards proactively rather than waiting until quantum computers capable of breaking current encryption are closer to reality.
