Nearly 500,000 people protest in Madrid over Spain’s housing crisis

IQN (NewsDesk): Close to half a million people took to the streets of Madrid on Saturday to protest Spain’s deepening housing crisis, in one of the largest demonstrations the country has seen in recent years over the issue of housing affordability and access.

The scale of the turnout reflects growing public frustration over rising rents and home prices that have increasingly squeezed ordinary Spanish households, a pattern mirrored in several other major European cities grappling with similar affordability pressures.
